Why parting is the make-or-break step (yes, even before products)

There’s no “one right way,” but these patterns are the easiest to repeat and the most forgiving when you’re doing your own hair.

Pattern A: The “Half & Five” routine (easy + organized)

This is the routine I use when I want to move fast but still look put together.

Step 1: Part hair straight down the middle (front to nape). Clip one side away.
Step 2: On the side you’re working on, create 5 medium sections (like little panels). Clip each one.
